About CARES
Mission
CARES of Washington provides opportunities for people in the Puget Sound region to achieve and sustain their full employment potential and achieve self-sufficiency in their lives. CARES specializes in providing individualized and long-term support for people with disabilities and those experiencing adversity due to low income.
Over the past three decades, CARES programs and services have expanded to five counties in the Puget Sound region - King County (1980), Pierce County (1990), Kitsap County (2002), Snohomish County (2008), and Thurston County (2010).

TESTIMONIAL

"CARES (Client Support) staff is genuinely concerned about the welfare of their clients, not only in terms of initial job placement, but on a much longer-term basis. I see CARES case workers getting genuine satisfaction out of their job. They are really successful in proactively building relationships with the Safeway store managers, by setting up employee assessments, and persevering in accomplishing the win-win situation for both people with disabilities and Safeway."
Katie Deschenes, Regional Human Resources – Employment Representative, Safeway
